Chacra is known for its work with Pinot Noir in Patagonia, but with Roka, it shows that Malbec also has something to say in Río Negro. A wine made with a different approach than Mendoza Malbec: fresher, lighter, with the hallmark of Patagonia's cold climate.
WINE PROFILE
100% Malbec from vineyards in the Río Negro Valley, Patagonia. Medium-bodied red, with soft tannins and a more pronounced acidity than usual for the variety. The region's cold climate lengthens ripening and gives a fresher, less dense profile than a Malbec from Mendoza. No oak aging or very moderate use, to preserve the expression of the terroir.
AGING POTENTIAL
To be enjoyed within its first 4 to 6 years from harvest.
SUGGESTED PAIRING
Comfortable with lean grilled meats, empanadas, pasta with tomato sauces and spices. It also works well with charcuterie boards and semi-cured cheeses.
