Luca Laborde Double Select Syrah

A unique story behind the bottle. More than half a century ago, winemaker Luis Laborde brought a double massal selection of Syrah clones from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the Rhône Valley, and planted them in La Consulta. Those same plants, probably the oldest in South America, are what give rise to this wine.

100% Syrah from vines planted in 1954 in La Consulta, Uco Valley, Mendoza, 1,000 meters above sea level. Manual harvest. Full-bodied red with well-structured tannins. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 35% new and 65% second use. %

Can evolve well between 8 and 10 years from harvest.

SUGGESTED PAIRING

Very suitable for grilled or smoked meats, lamb, pork, and dishes with mushrooms and mild cheeses.
