D.V. Catena Chardonnay – Chardonnay is a white wine from Catena Zapata made from high-altitude vineyards in Tupungato, Mendoza. It is a Chardonnay with more texture and complexity than a simple white, but without losing freshness.

WINE PROFILE

It is a varietal Chardonnay (100%). According to the official description, it combines grapes from La Pirámide Vineyard in Agrelo and Domingo Vineyard in Tupungato, a blend that seeks to integrate ripe fruit, freshness, and minerality. It ferments in stainless steel tanks, with 50% malolactic fermentation, and undergoes 6 months of aging on lees in third-use French oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks. The result is a medium-bodied white wine with good volume, creamy texture, and a balanced profile of fruit, acidity, and subtle oak.

SUGGESTED PAIRING

It pairs very well with grilled fish, roasted chicken, pasta with mild sauces, risottos, and semi-soft cheeses, and also accompanies slightly more elaborate dishes where a white wine with structure and good freshness is desired.
