Millán Family Descendant Of The Jarilla Monkeys Guardian Malbec

Descendiente de los Monos is an ultra-premium collection from Familia Millán, the group that also produces Mosquita Muerta. The label uses Darwin's evolutionary tree as its image and offers two Malbecs from different plots of the same estate in Gualtallary, produced in completely different ways. Jarillas Guardianas refers to the jarilla, Mendoza's provincial flower, which grows in the mountains and surrounds the plot where this wine originates.

WINE PROFILE

100% Malbec from a selected plot in Gualtallary, Uco Valley, Mendoza, at over 1,400 meters above sea level. Prolonged fermentation of over 50 days in small vessels with native yeasts and low extraction, allowing the grape to express itself. Aged for 12 to 14 months in small concrete and clay vessels. Unfiltered.

AGING POTENTIAL

Wine with great structure. Suitable for aging for several years.

SUGGESTED PAIRING

Pairs very well with quality beef cuts, aged meats, and cured cheeses. Decanting is recommended before serving.
